I have never really felt like I had the confidence, let alone pull off that (faux) leather look. I always thought it looked kinda cold, and only for the faint hearted and fashion forward. Ha! And I can tell you; that's not me!
I guess this blog post is all about making leather look softer and more comfortable because comfort is key in my opinion.

I think it is important to pick a good quality faux leather because anything too stiff will be uncomfortable. If the leather is cheap in appearance you won't get the depth of style you probably want to achieve.
Key styling points for that softer look:
01. Thick tights, black preferable, maybe with some sort of pattern?02. Thick knits, or slogan jumpers.
03. Don't just stick to black, pair with lighter, neutral shades to soften the harshness of the black.
04. Layer with scarves, or add a wooly hat of some sort; beret, bobble hat etc.
05. And finally, if in doubt pair with Converse.
