My day in London.

London at Christmas
There is no doubt that I love London, I think we are even planning to go back straight after the new year. I have never really been a tourist in London around Christmas but I think it is safe to say I much prefer it in the quieter months!

We got the 6am train and arrived just after 8am. Perfect, really! None of the shops were open yet so we headed straight to one of our bucket list items; Abbey Road. And since we were around St. John's Wood it would have been rude not to stop by at Panzers. I picked up some baking goodies which I can't wait to try out this Christmas.

Covent Garden at Christmas
Covent Garden
Naturally Covent Garden was next on the list and it was absolutely beautiful. The tree was absolutely mesmerising and I experienced all the festive feels. I made it my prerogative to visit the Glossier pop up whist I was there (haul coming soon!)

Next we walked through Leicester Square, picked up a Donut Time (obviously) and then took in the sights of Regents Street, Carnaby Street and then finally Oxford Street. I did a little bit of damage to my purse in Liberty's, but I have never really shopped in there before and I have always wanted to, so it was a bit of a dream come true kinda moment.

Next stop on our sweet foodie trip around London was Creme. Thankfully we were there so early we didn't have to queue, and honestly? I probably wouldn't in the future. Don't get me wrong, the cookies were nice but definitely not £4 nice, and not a patch on Ben's Cookies.

London at Christmas - Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park
Winter Wonderland has been on our to do list since last year, so I am glad we got to experience it, but by the time we had gotten round not even half of it I felt like I was ready to leave. As lovely and as festive as it was it was expensive, a little bit smelly and extremely overcrowded. I think we have vowed to go again, but in either November or just before it closes in January.

London at Christmas - Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace
The train home was at 6pm so we decided to amble back the long way and take in Buckingham Palace along the way. I had hoped to nip into Fortnum and Mason but by the late afternoon everything was so overcrowded. The pavements were full so the decision for a Shake Shack, a Ben's Cookie and a quick trip to Foyles was made. In total we did about 30,000 steps and I am really feeling it today!

And that's it. The train ride home was spent slurping peppermint tea, snoozing and eating Marks & Spencer chocolate coins! Perfect.
