On my reading list for the year ahead...
I am not even sure what brought about the change, but biography's and real life stories are all I seem to be reaching for at the minute. I don't want to tempt fate so I have kept it to a nice short pile...
Some of them I have already featured in my My TBR Pile blog post, and I am also keeping a reading 'diary' (of sorts) over on my Instagram.
The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (and Your Children Will Be Glad That You Did) // Philippa Perry
In some ways I am scared to crack this one open, forcing me to face my fears and maybe address things I have really done my best at hiding away. However, when I am ready to read this book I will definitely try and take the most from it, especially for my little one.
Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital // Eric Manheimer
You can tell I am a massive New Amsterdam fan, can't you? I am fully aware I might not understand the medical terminology fully but that's not the reason why I want to read it. The plight and the problems that Eric faced was just something else, really putting life in perspective I guess.
Three Women // Lisa Taddeo
I purchased this on our most recent London trip. I had seen it around, and it had been on my Amazon wish list for a few months before I spotted the hardback with golden gilt page edges and signed by the author sticker in Foyles. I had to have it, and I am looking forward to reading these ladies stories.
Blue: A Memoir – Keeping the Peace and Falling to Pieces // John Sutherland
I am halfway through this book already and I am enjoying it as it is not particularly taxing. It's not too political and is more of a personal journey than a financial one. I I bought this for my kindle on the back of reading Unnatural Causes by Richard Shepherd. I still have in my pile This is going to hurt by Adam Kay too which I am putting in the same ilk of books.
