Small interior changes for 2020.

Lets be honest, I don't really have the money after Christmas to be splurging too much! I mean, does anyone? Hence the 'small' part of the interior changes for this year. If you are interested some of the things that feature in this post also featured in my Ikea Dash post. Go check it out!

I made it my mission this year to replace a lot of things that were 4 years old or even older.

I'm not particularly sentimental, but some stuff I was glad to see the back of (well, they went to new homes - I'm all about sustainability)

The hallway had always been bland and bothered me no end. It was really un-functional and I nearly ended up ripping up the carpet (I know! In a rented house too!) in frustration and paying to have vinyl put down. I'm a bit of a germaphobe, we also live in the country, and keeping an entranceway carpet clean was more than I could handle.

In the end I purchased a radiator cover to banish the sight of the fugliest heater, which in turn also gave me a shelf to put stuff on whilst I was putting on, or taking off my shoes. I also purchased this four pack of canvas art just to add some colour and depth to the area. To finish it off I then satisfied myself with a clear plastic carpet runner for the interim and it already looks more put together.

Bedside Decor
Bed from Made, all bedding from La Redoute.
My biggest purchase has to be a new bed. Not to slate my old one but it was cheap and impractical. Like, it was so low you couldn't store anything underneath it and it took up an amazing amount of space with a padded headboard and footer. Learning from my mistakes I purchased an ottoman bed and it has been a lifesaver for storage, especially after Christmas.

Bedside Table Decor
Bedside table from Next, lamp from Ikea and Neom diffuser.
A new bedside table was also on my list as I absolutely hated the design of the previous one. This one looks far more sleek and is definitely more in keeping with the rest of the room.

Living Room Decor
Macrame from La Redoute, Mirror from Ikea and Bee cushion from M&S
I saw this mirror on Pinterest and knew I had to have it for the living room. I definitely love a mix of natural woods on whites which I never thought I would (I was a white Ikea furniture gal to the max) but I love the variance of it, and it also means I can still experiment and have the freedom to deal with different colours and patterns.

Children's Table and Chairs
Children's table and chairs from Wayfair
Finally I purchased this play table for the living room and I love it and so does my little girl! It really opens up the area and goes with my existing furniture so well. It's lovely because she will bring in a chair to the kitchen and stand on it to help me at the worktops.

Smaller bits that I have purchased recently are new towels and bath mats, cushions, and a new bread bin. Everything just feels so much fresher now. I have faffed, moved, and reused a lot of things in other rooms and it just feels fantastic. I will be posted more interior bits over on my Instagram so go take a nosey!
