Welcome winter!

Christmas Tree 2019
My interior style has certainly evolved over the years. Surprisingly I used to really into my country cottage chic. You know, living for the National Trust gift shop kinda thing.

Train set from B&M Bargains | Tree skirt from Next
Only recently have I really gotten into my less is more style. Being brave and putting plain with more contrasting patterns, and loving a more blank, and uncluttered canvas. I love the natural touches of wicker and wood with white.

Basically an Ikea show room.

Not that I don't like the more personal touches I add; a Funko Pop! here and there, subtle Disney and my old, personal teen fiction Library from when I worked in a London bookshop.

Christmas
White houses from ASDA | Garland from Range
This Christmas I have embraced that Scandi feel and I couldn't be happier; small white houses, stars, and simple prints etc. I went for a slimline tree, purely because we don't have the space for bigger. Well, we do, but I tend to get a bit antsy when it comes to sacrificing more room than I actually need to. With a slimmer tree it meant that I didn't have to put any of our other furniture in storage. Bonus!

White houses and wooden stars from IKEA
Honestly, I prefer a real tree more for the smell than anything else, but with a new kitten and a cat, it made more sense financially if anything else, to stick to a fake one.

A couple of scentsicles and you have it. I have more than made for it with scented candles too.

Christmas
Candle from Next | Candle light from IKEA
I wanted it to be traditional but without the classic bright reds and golds, so I stuck to grey. Typical! (Although, that didn't stop me purchasing the softest festive Mickey Mouse blanket from Primark) I quite liked having a monochrome base as it meant I was free to stick with the colour scheme I already had in my living room. I could also introduce a couple of light wood bits without it looking too weird.

Christmas
Wooden Star from ASDA
My top bargain gems for decorations; IKEA, Next, and ASDA. However, this is only the start of what's to come. I have a few items on order (thanks to Black Friday and Cyber Monday) and as soon as they are here I will do another blog post a bit closer to Christmas.

I will also be vlogging over on my Instagram, so go give it a follow.
